A HISTORY STILL IN THE MAKING . . .

In 1970 when Floyd Owens converted an old cattle inspection station into the Cow Pen restaurant, little did he know he’d begun a Delta dining tradition that would continue well into the next century and counting.

Beginning in 1977, under the ownership of Gene and Juanita Grassi, the Cow Pen grew into one of Southeast Arkansas’s largest and best-known eateries. Through the years, the Cow Pen’s steaks, seafood, Mexican and Italian dishes won a number of culinary awards.

In 2007—after thirty years of riding herd at the Cow Pen—Gene and Juanita retired. They handed the reins to the Faulks, a restaurant family from Lake Village.

“Dedicated to a tradition of quality and excellence from the past, with an eye toward current restaurant and culinary trends, we pledge our best efforts to create memorable Cow Pen dining experiences for you and your family for years to come.”
